Toy Story 10th Anniversary Edition and Toy Story 2: Special Edition DVDs are going back into the Disney Vault on January 31st, 2009. If you don’t have these amazing 2 disc collector’s editions, go get them now before it’s too late, they are a jewel for any Pixar fan! The movies are now half off (at $10.97) if you buy two other at full price through the Disney Movie Club.
The move is presumably in anticipation for Toy Story’s 3D release on October 2nd of next year and it’s sequel’s 3D release on February 10th, 2010. You can expect a trilogy pack sometime in 2010, or separate 3D releases of the movies in the same year, but remember this is just speculation.

Hate that stupid vault. Plus, does it really work? Sure, when it rereleased, they do make a big splash, and usually become a top seller. But at the same time, people who didn’t buy it years ago, for whatever reason, can get upset and angry when a title isn’t avalible for a long period of time. My theory is that studios should get as much of their catalog out there, so if someone down the road wants it, they could easily find it in a few easy trips.
Argh! I already have the DVD’s but I HATE the vault. It’s such a stupid way to release films! Like Mister Incredible said, people get excited when something is re-released, but wouldn’t they buy it anyway if it was out? I don’t see how you can make all that much more money from releasing things this way. Its incredibly, incredibly frustrating.
Stupid vault.
I just want to watch Fantasia, but that darn vault is preventing me.
However, I already picked up both of those DVDs.
I’m anticipating and waiting for a Blu-ray trilogy pack. And, if I’m lucky, a Blu release of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins and perhaps a DVD set as a grab at a quick buck off of the Toy Story franchise.
RAWR. I DON’T HAVE THOSE. D:
Ugh, stupid vault.
