We’ve deduced more than we probably should have from Tom Hank‘s latest Twitter update:
"3 directors boss "Woody" around for Toy Story shorts. Come on, guys! Hanx," wrote the toy Sheriff himself.
The tweet, followed by a link to the image seen above, suggests that Angus MacLane, Bobby Podesta and Mark Walsh will direct one or more of the previously confirmed short films in the Toy Story Toons series. Each Pixarian mentioned is a proven leader— one director and two supervising animators, respectively.
Tom Hank’s picture may very well be from a recording session for Hawaii (or was it Dream Vacation), the short that is set to be attached to the theatrical release of Cars 2. But the tweet mentions the word "short" in its plural form, meaning that Hanks likely donned his cowboy boots and pull string for more than one hilarious vignette.
Maybe we’re blowing this image way out of proportion. It’s still nice to see talented people having fun doing what they love!
Your thoughts?

It’s Mark Walsh, not Scott Clark.
Excellent! Tom Hanks is hopefully returning for ALL the Toy Story Toons. I’m sorry, but Toy Story 3 made me realize how much I missed Tom Hanks in Woody’s boots. Sorry Jim Hanks.
Very cool, but isn’t it Angus “MacLane”?
If Tom is recording for multiple toy story shorts, excellent. I’m trying to keep my expectations in check though. Somehow I don’t see them using Hanks for ALL of them. at some point I would expect them to get Jim to fill in, as Tom is a busy guy. Unless they had everything recorded in that single session, but that’s doubtful.
That said, Jim does a good job.

Wow, Tom Hanks doing something other than the actual movies? Awesome!
