Pixar are releasing two movies in 2022: Turning Red (11 March 2022), and Lightyear (22 June 2022). They’re currently set to be released within just a few months of each other, but the styles couldn’t be more different. Take a look at the brand new teaser trailer for Lightyear below.
Chris Evans will voice Buzz Lightyear in this spin-off to the Toy Story series, exploring the origin of the titular space ranger.
Many will be excited to see Pixar tackling the tone and story that you would usually associate with the Marvel or Star Wars franchises, but we’re the most excited about how much Pixar are branching out at the moment. Turning Red and Luca have such soft, sweet character designs, and vibrant colours, then Lightyear has gone in the total opposite direction. There’s no way to predict what Pixar are going to do next at this point!
Our main hope for the plot is that Emperor Zurg somehow makes an appearance as the villain.
