I have decided to create a collection of information on Ratatouille, from what we know so far, onto one page.
First off we know that Ratatouille will be released on June 29, 2007 in the USA and now there is a release date for Germany being 30 August, 2007.
Secondly we know the plot. According to IMDB….
The story is of a rat named Ratatouille who lives in a upmarket Parisian restaurant run by an eccentric chef.
That is however all we know.
Next up we have the directors. Since we first heard about Ratatouille, we knew the director was Jan Pinkava who wrote and directed the award winning short film, Geri’s Game. That was however until this year when it was announced that Brad Bird would be taking over as director. It was rumoured that things were a little rocky on the production so they had to call in Brad. Now IMDB has news that Bob Peterson will be co-directing with Brad.
Bob has voiced Mr Ray from Finding Nemo, Roz from Monster’s Inc. and Geri from Geri’s Game.
Now to casting.
There only seems to be one confirmed cast member for Ratatouille and that is Brad Garrett, the voice of Dim in A Bug’s Life and Bloat in Finding Nemo. He will be voicing the chef.
There have been rumours that the following actors would play…
Kate Beckinsale as Esemhones
Jimmy Fallon as Frloen
Jeffrey Tambor as Banas
Harrison Ford as The Evil Andws
John Ratzenberger as Eskoimes
Martin Short as Nemral
Patrick Warburton as Wean
Bill Fagerbakke as Featner
However no voice of Ratatouille it seems.
Kathy Greenberg (Writer of the pilot episode for The L Word) and Emily Cook (Composer of Spy Kids theme song) will be debuting their feature film scriptwriting talents with Ratatouille; and Michael Giacchino (Composer of The Incredibles, Lost, Mission Impossible III) will be scoring the film.
That about covers all the information we have on Ratatouille. If you have any information that isn’t covered here, just post about it in the comments section and i’ll add it to the post.

You’re doing a great job! I love visiting this site. In your Ratouille section, you have a miss spelled word that I happened to have found; impossible (for mission impossible.) Cheers.
This isn’t about Ratatouille, but I have just found out that Pixar is doing a short film called The Extra occording to Wikipedia’s Pixar article in the Shorts section. Here’s the page.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixar
Great article, Luxo Jr.! Though I imagined that it would be hard to get some information on this film since Cars hasn’t even premeried in the US yet. Of course we should get more stuff after we see the Teaser, no?
Anyways, I would take Wikipedia with a grain of salt. Though I contribute to it myself, PIXAR’s Shorts section mention two Future shorts, ‘Ghost Lights’, and ‘The Extra.’ However, neither have actual sources to those names, so unless it’s PIXAR itself anonymously plugging that in, I would, as I said in the beginning, take that with a grain of salt.
Frloen? Andws? Either they’re hard-to-pronounce names, or they’re typos. 😉
And, I’ve also noticed that I think Disney/Pixar now likes putting their movies in summer. Maybe so more people can see ’em? Oh yeah, I got a box of Frosted Flakes with another Cars racer, and I finally got what I wanted – A Mater one! WOOT! Oh yeah, a few days ago, I had gotten one of Sherriff in ANOTHER Frosted Flakes. And we got some cool Cars Pop-tarts! (Sorry if the last few sentences sound kinda braggy, but this is the best I can write.) They’re called “Backwards Berry Pop-Tarts”. I can’t remember what most of the sprinkles were, but most of ‘enm are tire-shaped. It looks cool!
Anonymous: Thanks for the heads up and the nice comments!
Bill: Thanks for that. I did a search and found absolutely nothing on it except that Wiki says its there. While tracking it back to see who entered in The Extra, i found that someone orginally entered it as No Extra and just Extras. Before that it was Save the Worlds. So I can assume that due to the revisions the name is correct and there will be a short with Ratatouille called The Extra.
Phoenician: I can’t wait to see the teaser trailer for Ratatouille after everything I have heard about it. Surely we will get more info on it.
Ghost Light was confirmed by Michael Wallis a month back or so. Its about Mater and a Ghost Light near Route 66 in Kansas. Its going to be on the Cars DVD.
t-bird: I find it hard to belive that they will be the names of the Characters. If we can’t pronounce them i don’t see how little Kids could pronounce them let alone remeber the names.
Very cool about the Cars characters in cereal. I have at the moment some ice creams with pictures of Mater and other Cars Characters on the packet.
My (ineducated) guess is that whenever you go see it, you’ll get a booklet called “How to Pronounce the Names in Our Movie Ratatouille”. 😀 LOL
Uhhh…I wish I had a computer that could translate…:P
There is a rumour floating around that Casey Casem is voicing Ratatouille!
Luxo Jr., you also miss spelled Ratatouille in the title for the news.
lol fixing now…
Outstanding! After watching and listening to the trailer, my boys and I think Brad Bird is voicing the waiter who describes the cheeses… Sounds a bit like Edna, no? Also, Wikipedia says Oswald Patton is the voice of Ratatouille, and that sounds (literally) right to my ears…
Cheers!
