UPDATE: No, Disney is not aquiring Upcoming Pixar. All part of an elaborate April Fools joke that fooled a lot of you it seems. As for UpcomingPixar.com. No idea when It will be up. I don’t even have cool design in mind for it. Any way, April Fools!
I am pleased to inform you that I may now announce that The Walt Disney Company is buying Upcoming Pixar. Upcoming Pixar will now be the official blog of Pixar Animation Studios and will have all the latest news and exclusive clips from upcoming films from Pixar, starting with Ratatouille.
As some of you have noticed, there is the domain and website, www.upcomingpixar.com. It has been under construction for some time, waiting for the deal to go through after many weeks of discussion. Upcoming Pixar will be located now at www.upcomingpixar.com and the site opens at on Monday at 9:05pm PST next week.
This deal has exciting new prospects for Upcoming Pixar and hopefully you will all be able to join me there.

“The Walt Disney Company is buying Upcoming Pixar”
You mean, the big Disney is buying a Web site that you started as a hobby? Wow!
Congratulations my friend!

PS Please nag Pixar to do a good job on TS3. Toy Story 2 is still my favorite Pixar movie!
Ha ha ha.
Wow that’s amazing.
Congratulations 🙂
Happy April Fool’s Day!
Well, if this is true then “congratulations!”
Have you received any response from Disney/Pixar regarding the Ratatouille open letter, yet?
Ok, if you haven’t realised the date. Its April 1st. I say no more.
And anonymous, the only reply from Buena Vista I heard regarding the ratatouille release date was a reply to an email I sent them before I wrote the letter. They said it was due to a “business decision”.
So basically Disney were saying “It’s none of your business, kid”. Oh well. Here’s to hoping Pixar will get back to you.
I highly doubt I will be sent any response. Particulary from Pixar as setting release dates of films has nothing to do with them. Especially international film date releases. That’s all up to Buena Vista.
I understand that it is up to Buena Vista, but if Pixar sees how irritating it is to their fans to have to wait up to 5 months, then they do have the power to put pressure on Disney to change it.
And Mr. Lasseter being CCO of Disney would surely have some influence concerning the release of their films.
I don’t know. Maybe I’m just being an optimist here, but it seems more likely that Pixar would contact you, than Disney.
Funny joke, BTW. 🙂 You got me there.
Cool joke, guys, but isn’t it a tad similar to the one Animated News did last year?

Is this a joke or not?
You got me and other people on Pixar Planet ! They made a post about it !! lmao
So when does UpcomingPixar.com really come out?
Haha — good one, luxo jr. Happy April Fool’s Day!
Aha I know I was gotten good XD
