The Los Angeles Times recently spoke with Billy Crystal about his voice work as Mike Wazowski in Monsters University.
Almost 10 years have passed since Crystal first took the mic as the walking, green eye ball. In the upcoming prequel, we learn that Mike and his hulking blue friend weren’t always best pals.
Behind the scenes, however, Crystal and John Goodman (voice of Sulley) are getting along fantastically. "We’re having a blast together… It’s a really great script, it’s really funny," says Crystal of Pixar’s first prequel.
Set in the monster’s college years, Billy Crystal wasn’t able to provide many new details about the film. He was able to let slip that "Mike has a retainer." Crystal also added that "Monsters University ends where [Monsters, Inc.] starts." I wonder if he meant that literally…
Directed by Dan Scanlon, Monsters University opens June 21, 2013.
Your thoughts?

I wonder if you could watch the two movies back to back, and it make a single 3 hour movie…

That would be cool to have a three hour movie. . . Does anyone know if Randall or Celia or Waternoose or Roz is going to be in the movie? I think Monsters University is a better idea than a Monsters Inc 2. I’m so excited
Billy Crystal is neither fun nor funny. An annoying, grating voice and an utterly vain, selfish, and obnoxious personality. Pixar should do better than that.
John Goodman? Now THERE’S a real actor! Can’t wait.
Spoilers for a movie that comes out in two years, hehehehe.
Monsters University sounds super good!
