Along with the updates to the official Disney Blu-Ray website, you can now see a trailer for the Cars Blu-Ray release, which also previews some of the special features such as the Car Finder Game. It even explains what the Cine-Explore special feature is (basically John Lasseter guides you through the movie and you have access to documentary features, art etc. through a menu down the bottom. That is what I gather from it anyway)
Looks like it will be a good release, just a pity I won’t be able to experience due to the lack of a HDTV and a Blu-Ray player in my home.

You and a lot of others! Including myself. It’ll be a long time before I see those features. If I ever see them. I just read an article about how people are getting frustrated with these HD DVD/Blu-Ray wars and most are actually holding off on buying either one until a)the prices go down and b) one of them wins out. Plus I dont know that many people who own HD TVs. Is that really a requirement to be able to play those?
I imagine you could hook up a HD-DVD or Blu-Ray Player to a normal TV… but it defeats the point. Surely you’re purchase of either a HD-DVD or Blu-Ray player is for the better quality picture and sound; which won’t shine through on a bog-standard TV (or look any better than a standard DVD player)
Anywho, I want this on HD-DVD. I already have a HD-DVD player and HDTV and refuse to buy Blu-Ray. Grrr, this makes me so mad that Disney movies are Blu-Ray only.
Damn Sony and their wads of money.
It’s a bit obvious that Blu-ray’s gonna win, just consider the fact that Sony, the company that pretty much invented Blu-ray is also one of the biggest studios out there. I just bought a PS3, which has blu-ray technology. I definitly know I’ll be getting Ratatouille on Blu-ray, but I was wondering if I should double dip on Cars, but after seeing what extra bonuses are coming, I’m definitly getting this.

‘Nuff said from this Cars fan.
