Upcoming Pixar reader Brinke points out that VideoETA.com has an estimated release date for Cars. They say November this year.
This works out about right. We know its most probably going to be a fall (N.Hemisphere) release date and thats about 5 months after its release in cinema.

On a related note – I recently purchased the Toy Story dvd and watched the special features for the first time and cried because that was the first time I remember seeing Joe Ranft in the specials.

OH YEAH! And Bring on Mater and the Ghostlight! I’m gonna have a Pixar Movie Marathon i think!
I’ve already thought about this, and my guess is October 28th. 4 months after is becoming the norm. Remember The Incredibles releasing March 15th after opening November 4th. 4 months. Finding Nemo opening May 30th and releasing on DVD November 4th. Probably the closest example we can find. If November, it will be the first Tuesday of it.
Tuesday is always the day. November sounds good, and just in time for the holiday season.
I just can’t wait to have “One Man Band” and “Mater & the Ghost Light” on DVD!!
November sounds right. It’s close to the holiday season, and doesn’t mean a long wait. I can’t wait to have One Man Band on DVD, assuming that they put it in. What we need is a audio commentary though. With John Lasseter, Darla K. Anderson, Larry the Cable Guy, and Owen Wilson. I’d buy the DVD just for that!
Soooo . . . the minute we find out the Cars DVD release, are we going to see a new countdown, Luxo Jr.??

I know Michael Wallis, who lives in the same town as me. He’s insisted the DVD would be out before Christmas, so November seems likely.
Phoenician: Yes, as soon as we get a release date for the DVD, there will be another countdown, then when its outs the countdown will change to Ratatouille.
So November seems right then.

BTW – It’s Official: Cars beat everyone again at the Box Office for a second Week in a row!! Earning 31.2 Million this weekend for an approximate total of 114.5 Million (according to Yahoo.)

Well usually DVD details arrive not long after the release date is, as well as the box office art.
