Well the competition has closed as of yesterday (Wednesday) and disapointingly there was only 1 entry. I know some of you couldnt enter because of a number of reasons, i.e. no playstation or non NTSC compatible playstation or whatever reason you may have had.
Anyway, I think the entry is fully deserving of the prize, Cars for Playstation 2.
Congratulations to Sachin Sachdeva from India!
Here is Sachin’s entry…
You can view more photos of Sachin’s creation here.
Sachin’s creation was made in Alias/Wavefront’s Maya
Rendered in Mental Ray
And a total creation time of 54 hours.
Well done Sachin.
I’d also like to extend a HUGE thanks to Andy Seredy for donating the prize and also another HUGE thanks to Mark Wilcox, the owner of the very cool website, Black-Magic.co.nz (Fantastic for any NZ film related news), for hosting all the content needed to run this competition.
So its a big congratulations to Sachin and a huge thanks to Andy and Mark. Thanks!

Nice work and Congratulations!
Thanks Luxo Jr! I guess we saw all of them! *Hee Hee*
Next time lets have a more a more “universal” prize.
R.Scott Caple from the United States has come to my school recently, and will be here till August. He has previously worked on The Incredibles, Tarzan, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, etc. Recently he’s working on Ratatouille’s layout designs for the game ( he has shown us some of the stuff that he has done ). Do you guys have any questions for him regarding working in Pixar? I’ll be glad to help to learn some useful and interesting information from him. =)
I think you mean four photos, not for photos.
oops hehe. Thanks for pointing that out Bill. I always seem to be going to word it one way then I go to word it another and it just get my words muddled.
I don’t have any questions desmond, thanks for the offer though. Some of the others might have some questions though. If you get any interesting info, post it here.
Oh, we had to do in CG? Dang, our computer isn’t capable of doing that…
Hmmmmm…..I may have an idea: how about next time, we compete for a Pixar game for PC? Besides, if we didn’t have one, we wouldn’t know/do it. Sounds like a good idea huh?
Wow. *boggles* I would never be able to make that. It took me 12 hours just to do my layout.
So that limits my work at Pixar (in my dream world, that is) to airhead secretary. Oh, well.
Well T-Bird, I was limited to the prize because that is what was donated. I didn’t buy the prize. Next time there is a comp, I’m sure it might be more universal. And it didn’t have to be done in CG. Thats just how Sachin decided to do it.
Oh, yeah. I knew that. 😛
The PC game could be an idea, though, just to let you know. 😉
I think the “Art of Cars” book would be more encouraging since it’s more of an artist’s inspiration kinda thing.
