Sweet…the must get for a pixar fan.
I’m surprised they didn’t release something like this sooner, although I take it that they intentionally waited until Pixar had enough hits on their hands before rolling out a “Best Hits” CD collection.
Despite its value, I probably won’t be purchasing this, simply due to the fact that my family and I have almost every single Pixar soundtrack already, so there would be no need for us to buy a collector’s set. As for the included track from “Up”, I’ll just wait for the official soundtrack to hit the shelves. (What do you want to bet that they simply inserted that “Up” track in there to increase sales?)
Nevertheless, thanks for the information!
I think the Up soundtrack will be coming out around the same time as this compilation anyway, so to increase sales, what Disney should have done is release this CD in early May so fans would buy the CD just to listen to that track.
I would like to buy this as I’m a sucker for anything that is Pixar-only (like the Disney-Pixar Monopoly), but a Pixar Short films soundtrack would have been WAY better than a CD where 90% of the content is already available, such as with this CD.
Please release a Pixar Short Films soundtrack, Pixar.
I guess it’s interesting that they chose to put a score track from UP instead of a song, does this mean there is no song for UP? Or they didn’t want to to damage the soundtrack sales?
If there is a song, then it’s a shame not to include it here, because it will seem like the UP score addition was just to make this compilation feature all Pixar movies to date, without really caring about making it a really Greatest Hits package.
And like Mitch said, they should have either introduced this album in April to create an anticipation, or they should’ve included the UP song and maybe waited for the next Pixar Blu-ray/DVD to hit the shelves and release it then.
There is a song from Up, but I don’t know why they didn’t put it on here.
“Memories Can Weigh You Down” is probably from the spoilers montage of Carl’s life spoilers, since that has no vocals and they would need a very good track to express emotion better.

Actually, I think it was rachelcakes1985 who said that. Heheh.
