Animated News points out that Computer Arts speaks with Pixar’s Jan Pinkava, the director of Geri’s Game and until recently, the director of Ratatouille.
They talk about the Disney/Pixar Merger, photorealism in CG animation, Pastel Drawing looking animation and very briefly, Ratatouille.
Here is my favourite bit of the interview, and it might answer a few questions…
3DW: What happens to Ratatouille now? [Shortly before the interview, it had been reported that Brad Bird was to take over from Pinkava as director of the movie.] Are you still closely involved?
JP: I think that Brad Bird’s going to make a great job of it, but beyond that – and I’ve always wanted to say this – no comment.
Be sure to have a read, its a really good interview.
And in other news…
Animated News points out that two new Cars slideshows are now up at Yahoo! Movies.
One deals the steps of the animation process, while the other shows some of the characters, ads from the official website, along with some fun facts.

I also visit the site regularly (every day in fact)and I just wanted to say how impressed I am that you keep us updated almost every day on Pixar related news.
I plan to work at Pixar someday as an animator actually. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Bill for the nice comments.
Hopefully then, I might see you at Pixar someday, because I want to work for Pixar.
