In this brand new featurette from Disney.com, Pete Docter, Jonas Rivera, John Lasseter and the 3D crew at Pixar get us into the dimensional world of Up!
Specifically how they are using digital 3D to make Up that much more breathtaking. They take us through the action shots (generally in South America and in the sky), which will have immense depth to show peril. To contrast, shots in Carl’s city, for example, will be more compressed to mirror low emotional moments. Not only can we see some new shots from Up, but also some of our favorite Pixarians doing their thing!
If you or anyone you know is doubting 3D in this Pixar production, go ahead and watch the clip right now!
Note: It’s the first video on the Disney home page for today.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was TOTALLY WICKED!
I loved it! I loved the music, I loved all the new scenes, I loved the behind the scenes! Thank you!
And thank you Pixar 😀
Breathtaking. Especially the heartfelt scenes in the featurette. And I really like the lighting in the shot where Dug scratches at the door.
Magnificent. Absolutely magnificent….
Thank you very much for the information, Heimlich and martini!
