Finding Nemo recently made a splash around the world with the supposed confirmation of a Finding Nemo 2. With the re-launch of the film in 3D this September and now fresh video game tie-ins, all signs point toward even further growth of the Nemo franchise in the coming months!
Firstly, Big Screen Animation reports that the September 14 3D re-release of Finding Nemo will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Of course, any of Pixar’s works are welcome at an event celebrating the magic of film. An exact date hasn’t been confirmed, but the festival opens its doors from September 6 to 16.
Furthermore, if GameStop listings are to be believed, Nemo will be taking the Cars route by expanding the franchise through video game spin-offs. The game retailer’s product listings for DS and 3DS versions of Finding Nemo: Escape to the Big Blue provide little information beyond a September 11 launch date, but the close proximity to the opening date of Finding Nemo 3D makes plenty of sense. With the alleged date closing in, an announcement from Disney should be on the way.
