You probably remember Trixie as the internet chatting Triceratops from the latest Toy Story 3 trailer.
Now, thanks to Empire Magazine, there’s a better look at the dino-toy! Although many people noted Totoro and Ken as their favorite parts of the trailer, to me, Trixie wins hands down. It’s probably due to comedian Kristen Schaal’s great sense of timing, seen here recording with Lee Unkrich.
From Trixie’s mouth hinges to her beady eyes and her scales, it’s pretty easy to tell that she’s from the same line as Rex. The statement from her description "Also available: Tyrannosaurus Rex, Stegosaurus and Velociraptor" pretty much confirm this, anyway. I’m going to take a wild guess (sarcasm) and say that Velocistar237 (as seen in the trailer) is the Velociraptor mentioned above.
You can read Trixie’s full character description at the bottom of this article’s accompanying image, click to view larger. Also, a 360 degree turnaround of the character is available over at Empire’s post.
What do you think of Trixie? How do you predict Trixie’s implied prehistoric love connection will fit into the story?

Do i smell a romance between Trixie and Rex??? Just something that Pixar might have thought about…first it was Mrs. Potato Head…Mrs Potato Head…now Another Dinoasaur a mean one…then i could be the dominant predator…maybe???
Ughh…not again. First Ms. Potato head and Mr. Potato head…then Woody and Jessie…now Rex and Trixie? The concept it way to similar to Ice Age’s story line…I hope Pixar isn’t having another love story.
Uh… I’m pretty sure there was never any romance between Woody and Jessie and Mrs. Potato Head has always been very funny. I think the chemistry between Rex and Trixie is ripe with comic potential.
I agree, martin, she’s easily my favorite new character so far. the rest all seem too kiddy/girly to me. and being from the same line makes it feel more like its from the same universe. similar to how I instantly accepted Jessie as part of the gang when she was first introduced, Trixi should fit right in.
The whole toddler toy angle seems great for just getting laughs, but I cant say I want to own many of them. Trixi on the other hand, I have to have. I want them to make a toy story collection version of her, (with articulated jaw! this is important) but I know that is probably not likely.
But more than just her appealing design, Kristen rocks. I hope she doesnt gets a decent amount of screen time.
Oh my goodness … Trixie seems adorable! Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly get even more excited for Toy Story 3, little Trixie pops up in the trailer! Pixar! Stop channeling my eight-year-old dinosaur buff! 😉
