In the latest Toy Story 3 For Your Consideration ad, a couple of words transform an innocent assortment of Mr. Potato Head pieces into a gruesome scene.
It’s funny— just yesterday (and without the The Silence of the Lambs reference) it would’ve reminded my family of the mess our youngest members made while playing with their brand new, plastic spuds. But it’s clear that Disney/Pixar’s message is geared towards a slightly older audience.
The latest in the "Not Since… [Insert Best Picture Winner Here]" series takes us another step further, this time listing a couple of the accolades Toy Story 3 has been picking up on the road to the Oscars. Check out some past ads Titanic, Lord of the Rings, Shakespeare in Love. In my opinion, today’s is the most clever.
Update: Who would’ve known? A large chunk of the campaign is now available for your viewing pleasure over at Disney’s Awards Website. Click on "Campaign" to see 11 new FYC ads.
Get your pieces together, nominations will be announced on January 25, 2011. The 83rd Annual Academy Awards are slated for February 27, 2011!
Your thoughts?

Anonymous— Now I have. A lot of them are in Disney’s Awards Website. Check out the update. Thanks for the tip, though. 🙂
I checked out the link. Those are all great! 🙂
Not expecting anything, but quietly watching the awards news in a “oh, is that so? Hmm.” manner.
