The Brunei Times is reporting this heart-warming story about 80 children who are registered with the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Orphans Fund, and their guardians who were all spoiled when they got to see Ratatouille at the Empire Hotel and Country Club Cinema on Sunday morning.
The movie outing was initiated by HSBC’s Global Markets and Commercial Banking Department. Accompanying the children were five staff of the Crown Prince Orphan’s Fund.
Theactivity was also part of HSBC’s events to celeberate its 60th anniversary which began early this month. The bank said they were planning more community events in the year ahead.
says the article.
Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I hope they all enjoyed the film as much as everyone else seems to have. (Oh! More news coming too!)

You read my mind didn’t you!
Yes Thomas. It is my super power.
I have others which you will witness someday soon.
Aww — that’s wonderful! Ratatouille should be seen by everyone, in my opinion, so it’s nice to know that even orphans are getting a chance to watch this miraculous film….
Thanks for posting this!

You have no idea how great an experience it was for those orphans to experience going to a movie. In our culture & life we see it as no big deal, but in the life of an orphan it makes a huge difference. Seeing that good things can happen in thier lives can make a huge difference in an orphans out look. It gives them hope that they did not see before!
I’m working with orphans through an orginization called Orphan’s Hope (Check out http://www.OrphansHope.org ) where we give orphans life transforming experiences like these. One teen from this past summer kept saying; “I can’t belive this happened to me. I can’t belive this is my life.” It really is great for them.
