Ratatouille Hits P2P [Updated]

News Pixar Ratatouille

Well it’s finally made it to the P2P networks everyone. Ratatouille has hit P2P networks across the globe and I can imagine it will be downloaded by many, due to it not hitting theatres in the US for another 8 days, and doesn’t make it to the UK till the 5th of October.

I can tell you, the urge is there to grab the download, due to the fact that I won’t be seeing it till August 30, more than two months away, but I won’t as it would feel like I would be stabbing everyone at Pixar in back for all their hard work. I would urge you all to do the same, by not downloading this film.

Well since the damage has been done, I hope that if people do download it, they will hopefully love it so much that they will go see it in its full glory at the cinema and tell all their friends and family to go see it too. For every 1 pirated downloaded, we get 3 more people seeing it at the cinema?

Just thought I should alert you all to this fact. Have a great day.

UPDATE: Producer of Ratatouille, Brad Lewis, chatted to The Big Picture’s Colin Boyd, and he had a few comments on the situation.

“You hear about it and you kind of have one perspective about it…until it’s your film,” said Lewis. “When I say that, I never thought positively about it, I always thought negatively about it. I guess what I’m trying to describe is, I’m so angry, I can hardly stand it….You don’t realize how many people it affects. I’ve been on this project for over five-and-a-half years, there’s over four, five hundred people that have worked on it, and they give heart and soul on this stuff. I jumped online last night and thought, ‘Let me see if I can download it.’ And I couldn’t, thankfully. Hopefully, it’s somebody who gets some thrill out of vandalism. I don’t know what the thrill is. I don’t get it. It makes me really angry.”

And frankly, I don’t blame Brad. Please everyone, whatever you do, don’t download this film. It’s not worth it, I mean it’s disrepectful to the filmmakers, and if you do get caught, well then you may have heard some stories about what the MPAA does to people and they are not nice. So DON’T DOWNLOAD THIS FILM!

NOTE: This post does not intend to in anyway condone and promote digital piracy. Please do the morally right thing by the filmmakers, musicians, developers etc and don’t download their works which they have put a lot of effort into making.
