Although the “trash” Wall-E’s seemed really legit, I don’t think it seems fair that cardboard was to be used, this was a literal “TRASH” competition, but it just seemed like a build-your-own-walle-out-of-anything competition, which kinda seemed unfair.
Everyone used cardboard, and this was because it was the ‘Recycled Love’ contest. Cardboard is recycling. What you find in the trash/garbage these days, (the time of recycling bins), is not really what you would want to be sculpting things out of.
Recycling was allowed i.e. cardboard, cans etc. The WALL•E’s just had to be 3-D, and started from scratch. As stated in the contest directives:
No LEGO’s, papercraft models, or perishable food items, and only one entry per person.
