Variety is reporting today on an imminent release of the next version of Pixar’s popular rendering program, RenderMan® 14.0. Pixar’s Ed Catmull is expected to unveil the release on August 11 at this year’s SIGGRAPH.
Pixar use RenderMan® on it’s own films and makes it available for the whole industry to use. "It’s a core part of the essential culture of Pixar itself," says Chris Ford, RenderMan®‘s business manager.
