Pixar continues making a huge impact on Imagineering as its parent company moves forward with ambitious plans to re-vamp Disney’s California Adventure.
Although it’s much less talked about than the Cars Land expansion, World of Color is set to dazzle audiences much sooner. The upcoming water and lights show will incorporate your favorite moments from Disney and Pixar films synchronized to effects and music. Some new animation is also being created to aid in the spectacle, including the revival of Heimlich from A Bug’s Life!
Below is a video profiling the talent at Pixar that’s making this happen, giving viewers an idea of how the water projection works:
World of Color is set to open at the Anaheim theme park in late spring or early summer of this year. For more information on the future plans for Disney’s California Adventure, check out the virtual Blue Sky Cellar.

I heard about this last year! Excitemeeeeent! 😀
I didn’t know they reanimated the shots for it though! New angles to old shots get me more excited than they should. xD
Guys, why did you post that low quality
video instead of linking to the Disney Parks YouTube page which is actually in HD?

Trust me, I did link to it. Click on “video profiling the talent at Pixar.” Disney Parks doesn’t allow embedding, unfortunately. Thanks for the tip, but I got it. 😉
Yeah, the last time I was in California Adventure Park they had completely drained the “pool” in preparation for their “World of Color” attraction. I look forward to seeing it when it opens!
I was there last october and the lake was drained, I am going again in July this year. Can’t wait!
