After checking out the entire LEGO Toy Story line-up in person, it’s a little strange to think that it took this long for the building block company to start working with Pixar!
Both the TS and TS2 sets seem like they would’ve worked perfectly back when each film was released over a decade earlier. Best of all, they hold up properly today! But wait until you see some of the Toy Story 3 packages that are coming soon!
If you actively follow us on Twitter, you know that I’ve been away lately visiting the (absolutely fantastic) Bay Area. Yup, that included a wonderful tour of Pixar Animation Studios! More on that soon — now that I’m back.
Anyway, on Thursday I had the pleasure of meeting tons of amazing individuals including a representative from LEGO. She showed me pieces of the Toy Story mural on display at the studio. Each section was made by volunteers at the Boys & Girls Club of America in 6 different cities to promote the new Blu-ray releases. Later, they all met with Pixar’s Jason Katz to arrange the masterpiece.
Seeing the LEGO creation in person was a blast! I wonder what Angus MacLane thought about it? More pictures of the mural can be found here.
