While a sequel to Brad Bird’s acclaimed superhero flick may not be on it’s way anytime soon, here’s the next best thing.
DVDizzy has found details and cover art for the April 12 release of The Incredibles on Blu-ray. Most of the content from the 2005 DVD will be included as well as a couple of exciting, all-new bonus features:
• The Incredibles Revisited (Filmmaker’s Roundtable)
• Paths to Pixar: Story Artist
• Studio Stories: Gary’s Birthday
• Ending With a Bang: Making the End Credits
• Interactive "New Nomanisan Island" Top Secret Redevelopment Plan
The Incredibles is set to include 2 Blu-ray discs, 1 DVD and a digital copy as well as a free, redeemable Cars 2 ticket. Pre-order your copy on Amazon today.
Related: On the same day, Cars is also set to be re-re-released (yes, I mean it) on Blu-ray with a new cover. As you may remember, the original release of Cars on Blu-ray used the old DVD artwork.
Your thoughts?

This is great and all, but I don’t like how they are taking previous stock images and just sticking them on the cover. The DVD had an original cover, why not use that again?
It seems that they are sticking to a ‘pattern.’ The covers for this and Cars resemble the earlier covers from last year for Toy Story 1 and 2. The characters on one side, and a solid color strip on the other with the title mixed in.
I am surprised that they still haven’t released a Cars BR pack that doesn’t include a digital copy. I took advantage of he $10 PIXAR copies on iTunes in the last week and got everything I didn’t have (TS1&2, Cars and Ratatouille). Though I staved off Incredibles and Nemo (I’m still holding out hope that Nemo will have a digital copy when he’s finally released).
This cover his horrible.
TS1 and TS2 were ok, TS3 was pretty terrible (black background – really?)
I get what they’re trying to go for with a cohesive design across the Pixar titles, but it’s not working in this case. None of the characters feel like they’re in the same scene, and it feels like an amateur photoshop job.
I think part of why the Toy Story covers worked was the simplicity. You had the characters over a Pure white background with the color panel on the side. Having the color panel and a full color background feels a little too busy.
I agree. What a shame they don’t get Pixar artists or directors involved in creating these covers. It really does look cheap. But at least I’ll have it on blu-ray!
