Yesterday I was hoping we’d get an embeddable version of the Toy Story 3 International Montage as shared by Lee Unkrich in a recent tweet.
Since embedding this special cut of the upcoming sequel’s trailer is not going to be possible (at least officially), I guess I’ll just write my thoughts on it instead. Of course, the link for you to watch is up there if you haven’t had the chance to enjoy it already!
Although it should be a pretty well known fact that the studio’s films are translated into over 40 languages (after all we’ve seen Pixar DVDs with international track featurettes) it’s still great to hear how similar Woody sounds from Japanese to Greek to Icelandic! That’s great casting there on the part of Disney, at least to my untrained ear in those languages.
This is especially relevant now that the official Toy Story 3 worldwide release schedule has been made public. I’m so happy that international fans won’t have to wait as long as usual!
So what did you think of Toy Story 3’s global montage? International readers, what do you think about your country’s dubs?

I love those dubs, they’re all just so good!! 🙂 It’s interesting how the characters always sound REALLY different when in German, at least to me…
