The Observer has compiled a list of the Top 50 Greatest Film Soundtracks, where the Toy Story soundtrack, by one of my favourite singer/songwriters Randy Newman, comes in at No 29.
Also on the list is The Wizard of Oz, Psycho and Star Wars.

Yay! Star Wars made it 🙂
And of course, I’m really glad that Toy Story made it as well. In my humble opinion, though, the soundtrack from A Bug’s Life, which was also composed by Randy Newman, should have been in that list, as well as Michael Giacchino’s score for The Incredibles. Those two films featured the best soundtrack from any Pixar film, IMO (although the other Pixar soundtracks are great as well – they certainly contribute to the quality of the movies that Pixar has made).
Cool. Thanks for the information, luxo jr.!
CountSolo – Haha! Yeah, I was thinking the same thing: Star Wars is on the list!
I also agree with you in that A Bug’s Life and The Incredibles should have made it into one of the top 50 spots, but I am pleased that Toy Story, at least, earned a place on the list.
