Toy Story 3 seems to be progressing faster than previously expected according to the National Ledger when they talked with Tim Allen.
“We have John Lasseter, the original director, and I believe Tom (Hanks) is on board,” says Tim and he also says that the latest version of the story is “stronger” than the old one according to the Ledger.
Toy Story 3 was going to be originally made by Disney until Disney aquired Pixar and the Chief Creative Officer of both companies now, John Lasseter, stopped production on TS3 and said that sequels of Pixar films would be made by Pixar and not Disney and vice versa. It has since been reported that Toy Story 3 is in pre-production at Pixar.

*waits patiently for a story outline*
Tim and Tom are such a good team – almost as good as Woody and Buzz!
I knwo it is a bit soon to be thinking dvd extras BUT I hope this time we finally get a voice casting extra showing outakes and such from voice recording with Tim and Tom! Maybe if we start talkgin about it now they will hear about it and film some footage in preparation!
Exelent!!! Now I can sleep at night! Hee hee.
Is there a possibility now that Toy Story 3 will be Pixar’s next film after Ratatouille?
But I swear i saw an article, saying the next film after Ratatouille had something to do with “monsters”
Well, they already did Monsters, Inc., so I highly dought the next one’s about monsters.
I wonder who Lasetter’s co-director on TS3 will be. As busy as he is, surely he’ll have one.
Monsters? Could be “Monsters, Inc. 2” perhaps.
Well as for TS3 being after Ratatouille, I highly doubt that as TS3 would only be very early on in production and as far as I am aware they are already animating on the one after Ratatouille and TS3 is only in boarding stages it seems. I don’t even think it will be the one after the one after Ratatouille.
As for Monsters Inc 2 – 1. It could be possible as Jim Hill said in an article reportedly the Pixar recruiters were saying they were doing Monsters.
2. Pixar seem very unlikely to make this many sequels.
Maybe Andrew Stanton will co-direct with him, or Lee Unkrich. Andrew was one of the main writers on TS and TS2 so why not move to Co-Director on TS3. Plus he has co-directed with John before on A Bug’s Life.
Ash Brannon is co-directing Surf’s Up, so I guess we could count him out. The only other co-director for the Toy Story movies is Lee Unkrich, who also was co-director on Toy Story 2 along with Ash Brannon.
Stanton will most definitely be involved in TS3 . . . it only makes sense.
Yeah, I hope TS3 will not be film after Ratatouille. That would mean that it was rushed. Let them take their time: That’s how Box Office/Academy Award Genius Films are made!!
BTW – PIXAR Planet is NOW open!
Ahh excellent!
Bogus!
Bogus what?
Just some small news… the UK release date for Ratatouille has been announced: July 27, 2007.
Ahh cool, thanks Bill. I’ll tag it onto the next post.
Let me know when you’ll have a release date for France ^^
The only problem that I can see with making Toy Story 3 is that Jim Varney has passed away. He was the voice of Slinky Dog. And the same thing applies to Joe Ranft. Lenny the Binoculars and Wheezy the Penguin were both voiced by him, so there is a slight possibility that they won’t appear in Toy Story 3.
Yeah, that does pose a problem. Maybe they can get an impersonator or if it is the story of them going to a pre-school after Andy has finished with them, Slinky and Wheezy and Lenny may have had something done with them that way. Sad when you think about it though.
Andy….*SOB*……Getting rid of…..*CRY*……The toys?
How could he?!?
I’ve been looking at the same post for four days. Please add another one.
Bill, that’s what I was thinking, but I love this news!
I can’t wait tell Toy Story 3 comes out! I am so glad that Tim and Tom are back
We will have to wait in suspence.
They Said That If They Finish making “UP” in 2009, Then In 2010 They would make this film.
I Just hope That they can find 2 people really good at acting to take the place of Slinky Dog,Wheezy The Penguin ,and Lenny The Binoculars
The characters they have lost are major components to their earlier success. I do believe that they will overcome this but the storyline will have gratly shrunk.
Hopefully more information will arise to raise the hype for TS3
