Cars Toons is back with an intergalactic bang!
Unidentified Flying Mater, part of Mater’s Tall Tales, follows the rusty-but-trusty tow truck as he encounters and quickly befriends a UFO named Mator. Radiator Springs’ go-to-guy rushes to the rescue when his space friend is captured by the military! As usual, Lightning McQueen finds Mater’s story a little hard to believe.
Catch the brand new short, directed by John Lasseter and Rob Gibbs, at or around 9:30 PM ET/PT tonight on Disney Channel; check update for other viewing options! If it’s as funny as the 30-seconds I saw, UFM could be my favorite in the Cars Toon series! Here’s a preview clip courtesy of DisneyCarsToys:

Oh my goodness, that was so funny! I don’t wanna spoil it, but you’ve gotta watch the full short if you haven’t seen it! Now, let’s see how the other two new shorts will be like when they premiere in 2010.
Nice to see Lasseter co-directing these shorts and the upcoming Cars 2 movie.
