WalMart is exclusively selling a 2-Pack edition of Cars on DVD. Now I bet you’re all saying, “But they already did sell a 2-Pack and all it had was some music videos and other lame stuff.” Well, actually, this is a different 2-Pack. It contains most of the features from the Blu-Ray edition of the DVD due on November 9. I quote…
New Car Finder Experience; World Of Cars Mini-Guide; Glow-In-The-Dark Poster; And More! Plus Never-Before-Seen “Memory Lane” Hosted By John Lasseter, .
Upcoming Pixar reader, IrishCal, kindly pointed out this news to me and has said that he will report on his findings once he has had a look. Does anyone else have a copy of this?
UPDATE: This is what IrishCal has to say and frankly, it is disappointing:
Ok here’s the scoop, and it’s a little disappointing. The packaging on the bonus disc states that the disc includes “New Car Finder Experience, Cine-Explore Ultimate Behind the Scenes Look, and Memory Lane Feature Hosted by John Lasseter.” While true to an extent, it’s definitely misleading.
The Car Finder feature is little more than an advertisement for the Blu-Ray disc feature and has a sample version of the game. The Cine-Explore is just more of the same with excerpts from the two commentary tracks. Basically, Cine-Explore is just a glorified commentary feature. You have two tracks with a capability to instantly switch between the two while also having the option of view various bits of production art simultaneously. The Memory Lane feature is something worth watching and gives a little more insight into the inspiration behind the movie and runs just under 35 minutes.
To make a long story short, it’s worth getting if you’re a die-hard fan of the movie and/or Pixar but it will make you wish you had a Blu-Ray player even more.
Your thoughts?

Thanks for the news!
I like how the cover looks on it! It looks good! I wish I could buy the Blu-Ray DVD, but I don’t have a Blu-Ray DVD Player! =(
It sounds nice, but as I already have the movie….
(this leaves me a little angry at Disney. Although nothing new.)
Perhaps I should wait a year after Ratatouille comes out also, in case they add more to the 2-disc ‘bonus release’ that seems to be becoming trend.
Not happy.
The Walt Disney Company is trying to take over the world. I am not joking one bit. Although it does not seem that extreme, you might want to do some research if you don’t believe me. Disney is constantly losing money…fast. The only way to stop this from happening is to steal and cheat people for money. This is was Disney is doing to people. They waited for people to buy the Cars DVD, and then later released a Blu-Ray (which is much more expensive) of Cars, but with the extra features everyone was expecting. Not only do you have to pay Disney even more now, but Disney also knows that most people don’t have Blu-Ray players, so they make you pay for that as well. Disney Is Evil. Don’t believe their lies, or fall for their tricks. Disney Is Evil.
Flagfreak, you’re hilarious.
Disney is a business. You think they’re the only ones releasing multiple dvds of the same film?
Let’s see…How many versions of Lord of the Rings have been released now?
Welcome to the real world!
