It appears that the re-design is in response to Luxo Jr.‘s recent refusal to hop in at the beginning of Pixar’s films without reimbursement.
After all, he’s been in all 10 Pixar films without getting even one credit! Is it possible that we’ll also see an upcoming short featuring the tasklamp? A name has not yet been set for a proposed promotional vignette and its "bright" protagonist.
Ok, if you haven’t noticed already this is an April Fool’s Day prank!
Of course Pixar isn’t revamping their classic and beloved mascot! Luxo Jr. is perfectly fine with his unpaid gig.
