The American International Toy Fair kicked off yesterday with exciting Toy Story 3 announcements from Disney Consumer Products.
Present were Lee Unkrich, Darla K. Anderson, John Ratzenberger and recent Toy Hall of Fame inductee, John Lasseter. The Green Army Men even rolled out for the big reveal featuring toys from Thinkway, Mattel, Hasbro, LEGO, JAKKS Pacific and Fisher-Price!
From Thinkway comes an expansion to the Toy Story Collection. This "definitive" set of movie accurate toys will now include a strawberry scented Lots-O’-Huggin’-Bear with 45 different sayings, an updated Buzz Lightyear with Spanish/Toy Story 3 phrases and Bullseye.
Mattel will bring role playing items to the table such as a the Buzz Lightyear Ultra Blast arm cuff and Wing Pack. Also from Mattel are the Action Links sets coming soon. They’re basically connectable scenes from the films that are perfect for Toy Story mini figures. Mattel will also offer Toy Story versions of Barbie, Ken, Magic 8 Ball, Hot Wheels, Tyco, and Matchbox cross-branded products.
Toy Story has been a first for LEGO recently and they’re doing it big for the series’ third installment. Upcoming sets include Toy Story 3 Western Train and Lotso’s Dump Truck building block packages. It’s also of note that LEGO created a bust of Lasseter which was shown at the event.
Let’s not forget Hasbro’s finest — Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, which can be dressed up as Woody, Buzz or Jessie. Hasbro will also be releasing an electronic Potato Head with TS3 phrases. As for tie in games, Yahtzee, Memory, Operation, Trouble, Connect Four, Chutes and Ladders, Buckaroo and more will be available in Toy Story editions!
Last but not least is another major player: JAKKS Pacific bringing you Toy Story Mania Plug and Play games and Halloween costumes. Speaking of clothes, Disney Consumer Products will also be releasing apparel, accessories, adult collectibles, books and more, some exclusive to Disney Store.
Time for miscellanea — Fischer-Price will bring forth a TS3 themed Chatter Phone and Poof-Slinky will re-release its iconic Slinky Dog product. Now that we’re talking tie-ins, check out Toy Story 3: The Video Game which is now up for pre-order on all platforms; featuring story and free roaming game modes!
Look our for the first wave to hit stores on May 1st with the rest of over 250 new items releasing from the Summer through the holiday season! It’s obvious we won’t be experiencing a shortage of products sort of like last year with Up.
What Toy Story 3 toys are you most excited to get out of the box this Summer?

Incredible! I also spot a Bullseye toy, which I think so far hasn’t been available. So I’m really pleased with that. The Toy Story Collection toys are amazing; I’ve got each and every one released up to this point and absolutely love them. Can’t wait for TS3 and the release of Lotso and Bullseye. Also, as a side note, I’m so pleased that they decided to continue the “Toy Story Collection” line instead of creating an entirely new “Toy Story 3” line, which would have been hugely unfair.
I’m seriously excited about the Rex and LGM’s, it’s about time they released them.
And Hamm, there is a Bullseye out, it’s the right size to sit your Woody on (Wow, that sounded wrong…) but it’s plush.
I maybe reading to much into this. But that picture of Lots-O’-Huggin’-Bear on the back of that dump truck with the mean expression makes me think that he maybe an antagonist. Then again he maybe a protagonist and he may have that expression in the movie while doing something to help Woody and the gang. I can’t wait for this movie. And I wish I had the money for these toys.
Lotso is the antagonist. Upcomingpixar revealed that last year. Don’t remember when.
Lotso is like the Godfather, and the guys around the table gambling (Ken, Purple Octopus, Bug-Man) are much like his henchmen, I think. I’m guessing we’ll see Ken reform and join Andy’s toys because he falls in love with Barbie.
And Anonymous #1, I’ve seen the plush Bullseye, but the new one looks fantastic. Also, the Rex and the LGMs have been out since October, so you might want to head over to your local Toys R Us and pick ‘em up now 🙂
Really
Unfortunately, I’m British. I don’t think they’re here yet.
Oh, sorry about that… I live in Canada so I’m actually a bit surprised that they’re here, but I guess Canada isn’t really a true international market when it comes to products from the US. Hope the UK gets Rex and the LGMs soon!
Wow, I might just have to bribe my parents for a Lotso or new Slinky. These look great. That John Lasseter LEGO bust is incredible.

Friends,
The CGI looks great. I’m concerned about the references to selling on eBay (previous trailer) and online chat (this trailer) as that stuff is not so timeless / classical as Toy Story 1/2, more into fogettable Dreamworks humor.
Andrew
I love the fact that they are planning Jessie and Bullseye in Woody’s Roundup packaging…but why can’t we at least get a boxed Stinky Pete? It isn’t a complete set without him.
Btw, anyone know what became of that two-legged Mr Potato Head that was standing around in those Toy Story toy videos Lasseter did? Are we ever going to have a Potato head that has separated eyse and more movie-accurate parts?
