Awards season has truly kicked into high gear and nobody is leaving Pixar’s 10th feature film achievement behind!
Earlier, we got some exciting nominations but today marks the first wins for Up in the fall season. The National Board of Review announced today the recipients for their 100th ceremony. Up was not only named Best Animated Feature (2009), but also one of the Top 10 Films of the Year! Pixar is a regular in the Animated category, winning with each film since Finding Nemo, the studio was also in the Top 10 last year with WALL•E.
Now, you must be wondering who’s going home with Best Film; this year the top prize was handed to another "up" — Up In The Air. Runners-up, according to the top ten category, include the following (in alphabetical order): An Education, (500) Days of Summer, The Hurt Locker, Inglorious Basterds, Invictus, The Messenger, A Serious Man, Star Trek, Up and Where The Wild Things Are. Check out the rest of the winners here.
The aforementioned list should be a nice indicator for what we’ll see during the Oscars. National Board of Review’s gala will be officially held on January 12th, 2009.

“Pixar is a regular in the Animated category, winning with each film since Finding Nemo…”
They lost Cars to Happy Feet.
Anonymous- That would be at the Academy Awards. Check out the results for The National Board of Review’s awards: http://www.nbrmp.org/awards/awards.cfm?award=Best%20Animated%20Feature
Trust me, I know what I’m talking about. 😛
I really don’t like it when people anonymously comment just to prove me wrong or something.
Hey, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to come off as a prick (although I guess I kind of did).
I thought their must have been some way I was misunderstanding what you said, but I couldn’t think of it. So, I assumed you just made a little mistake (which was actually what I did, oops).
So, thanks for filling me in. By the way, I read your blog everyday, just so you know.
Wow, imagine if that top 10 ends up being the Oscar BP noms of the year. That’d be interesting, especially with stuff like Star Trek and Where the Wild Things are on it (not to mention Up, of course. xD)

I know a Facebook petition might sound somewhat inconsequential, but it’s worth a try…
Anonymous #1- Don’t worry, I came off as kind of a jerk too. It’s just that I got tired of getting comments that have no opinion. I like to read what people think, not what I did wrong (that’s what the Contact Us form is for.)
Anywho, thank you so much for reading the blog, it means a lot to me! 🙂
I look forward to your comments in the future; sign up please. 🙂
