For those of you who are able to see Up today, I hope you fully enjoy this masterpiece! With your help, we can make it a huge success.
It’s already got marvelous reviews, with 98% of critics favoring Pixar’s 10th film (as of publishing time) and their 10th to be Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes! Don’t forget to promote the film and get your friends out there to see it, advertisements and trailers only go so far, your word of mouth can make Up Pixar’s 10th blockbuster. It’s only good news that analysts are predicting a big $60 million dollar opening for Pete Docter’s second feature film with the company. Major factors pointing to this number are recent performances by blockbuster animated films/demand behind them, the extra cost of 3D and as pointed out above, the extremely positive reviews.
A big "CONGRATULATIONS!" goes out to Pete Docter, Bob Peterson, Jonas Rivera and the whole Up team at Pixar for releasing another piece of quality entertainment that has been praised since well before release and will surely delight the masses starting today, let’s not forget Pete Sohn and the Partly Cloudy team! Of course another huge congrats goes out to Pixar on releasing their 10th film, what a triumphant movie for such a huge milestone!
Up is not to be missed, especially by fans of film, animation and of course, you: the Pixar fans, but I’m sure almost any demographic will be moved by it! On that note I’m going to take some time later in the day this weekend to highlight some more really cool Up-related business that’s relevant to opening day! From as early as today to as far as Up’s announcement.
Stay tuned.
Update: We’ll be bringing you really cool stuff as we said above, but instead, it’ll be done throughout the weekend due to how busy I am showing everyone how great Up is! Just got back from another amazing, magical, hilarious, touching screening, this time with Partly Cloudy (so cute) attached. Speaking of how great it is, I’m wondering how you liked it? Post your mini-reviews below!
Visit Up’s official website and while you’re there, purchase your tickets. Also, for all of you Twitter users, help @upcomingpixar make #Up and #Pixar a trending topic!

SoCal Movie Fanatics will be screening this film and would be pleased to share our members thoughts afterwards:

Saw a midnight screening! It was wonderful and awesome! The story was great, and thankfully the trailers didn’t give away much. The Digital 3D worked very well, and it was great how they used it along with the color saturation to enhance the emotion of the scenes (got the Art Of book as well today).
So happy to see the TS3 teaser – reminds me a lot of the TS2 trailer that I was shocked to see in front of Tarzan back in the day…
Found some easter eggs – will post them later.
As just about everyone is saying, another hit from Pixar!
Forenote: This review is spoiler free.
Following in vivniko‘s lead, I’m happy to say that I also caught a midnight screening of the film in 3-D with my dad and sister. At the moment, I’m still attempting to mentally formulate a review that bestows a proper agglomeration of praise for this thing….
Until I get my thoughts in order, I will say that the screening produced an unexpected, albeit healthy, turn-out of fans. The small horde of attendees whom I thought were going to see “Drag Me to Hell” all filed into the theater where “Up” was playing (most of them looked to be in their late teens/early 20s). It turned out to be a great audience — they clapped, cheered, cried, and laughed in all the right parts, and it was pretty obvious that they loved the film once the end credits began to role. The beggining and ending of the “Toy Story 3” teaser trailer also received a round of applause, and “Partly Cloudy” generated a good handful of laughs. (I loved both the teaser and the short, so high praise goes to Pixar in those respects, as well!)
Concerning “Up”, I will say this: It is quite possibly one of the most — if not the most — heart-felt production that Pixar has ever created. People literally clapped and cheered when Paradise Falls came into view; the beginning montage demanded reverence from the audience; and there was even a young lady in our aisle who couldn’t stop crying almost throughout the entire film. As for myself, if I didn’t love “Ratatouille” so much… “Up” would now be my favorite Pixar movie.
A warm congratulations to Pete Docter, Jonas Rivera, Bob Peterson, and the entire crew and cast who helped to make this film possible. You guys at Pixar are nothing less than pure geniuses….
Here’s my review:

But the quick version is that it’s great and one of Pixar’s most original. To me it was very much like Pixar’s version of Howl’s Moving Castle however it had the magic and emotional hook that HMC ultimately lacked.
Great film. Saw it once in 3D and once “normal”.
Snuck into midnight showing for a few minutes and saw the “Carl/Ellie montage”. It was SUPER! Saw it today but didn’t find any of the comedy too laughable for some reason. I think the 3D dims the mood or something. I wasn’t blown away like everyone else. I will try again this weekend.
Partly Cloudy wasn’t shown in my theatre. Does anyone know why that was?
I’ve been getting the “no Partly Cloudy” complaint a lot today, and truthfully I think it’s your theatre’s fault for not downloading it properly (I may be wrong)
What theatre chain did you go to?
You can email them and ask them if they can do anything for you, link them to projection.Pixar.com for proof
Hope I could help
hey beavis…heh….heh…he said “agglomeration”…heh heh……

The retro posters and arts of Up, but too expensive for me. 😀
I like this poster the most:

Anonymous #4 – Actually, I’m a “she”, and I thought that “agglomeration” fit at the time; however, now that I look back on it it sounds stupid. I blame my verbosity and excitement over the film. (heheh)
Up is hands down the best pixar movie yet. Obviously the least commercial, and while that may upset disney exec’s, it sure makes for a moving, beautiful picture.
Dunno if this is the best place for this question but does anyone know the reasoning behind this not coming out til late October in the UK (& Europe)?
It just seems rediculous.
UP IS THE BEST PIXAR MOVIE AND BEST ANY MOVIE IN HISTORY!!!!!
It was a great movie of comparisons between Carl’s and Muntz’ driving forces. Both were driven by adventure but Carl’s reasoning was love while for Muntz adventure became an idol.
Ah! UP! I am going to see it again with my friends. One of the best parts about going to the movie many times in opening weekend is going with a new crowd. I’ve seen the movie at an early screening, and at midnight (both were in a 3D theater) but I’ve got to say, I prefer the traditional theater better. The movie is fantastic and amazing. I also enjoyed the PatF trailer that played before the movie. 😀
And I did really good not to jump and yell when I found the A113 in the film. Finally, at the third showing, I found it 😀 Yay! (I’ll post where it is at the end of this post)
As Mitch as said, this is one of teh most heartfelt films from Pixar. I laughed, and cried, and laughed again. I still jump in intense scenes.
Partly Cloudy is cute, but it feels so much shorter than the other short films, but it’s very cute. It wasn’t shown in the 3D theater that I went to, but it was at the traditional showing.
Good Job Pixar 😀
Spoiler:The A113 can be found on the sign that Carl sits next to while waiting to be summoned. (Courtroom A113) :/Spoiler
Thanks for keep UP with the updates 🙂 (yay puns :P)
