Take out your 3D glasses… anaglyph glasses (red/blue) that is.
Entertainment Weekly has brought us a dimensional preview of upcoming 3D movies. The pictures are presented in the old fashioned way so we have to settle for the low quality red and blue 3D. Of course the movies themselves wont be seen this way instead they will be projected in powerful digital 3D.
Included in the preview are Pixar’s upcoming releases: Up (two images) and the first 3D look at Toy Story. Although the pictures are nowhere near as cool as they’ll look on screen (which is 100 times clearer) these images give you a taste of how the films will be shot (and seen) when they are released later this year.
The preview also has pictures for Monsters vs. Aliens, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Alpha and Omega. If you don’t have anaglyph glasses, purchase the March 27th issue of EW which includes a pair.
What do you think of so many new animated films going 3D?
Will you see Up in 3D, Toy Story in 3D?

I wish I still had those anaglyph glasses that I got back in my childhood days. To be honest, I actually prefer the red/blue version of 3D than what is offered now-a-days….
By the way, I think that you meant to say, “purchase the March 27th issue of EW” instead of the May issue.
Thanks for the information, martini!
Writing May 29th so much has had consequences for my brain. 😛
I think 3D is going to be the next platform for Animation, in which we have seen a lot of build up ever since Toy Story came out. I think we could see soon two groups of animation: Traditional, and 3D/CGI
Anyone tried looking at the images with the glasses yet?
martini – Ha-ha. No worries. I’ve experienced similar issues.
Rachel – Once the March 27th issue of the Entertainment Weekly magazine is released, I’ll probably purchase it so as I may obtain a pair of those glasses. I’ve been meaning to get those types of glasses for years anyway….
