After endlessly waiting for a Blu-ray update, Upcoming Pixar presents a slightly delayed review of The Incredibles on Blu-ray!
Pixar fans and collectors won’t want to pass up this four disc set, including two Blu-rays, a DVD copy and a digital copy. It’ been said that the cover art isn’t all that inspired, however I can tell you that it looks much better in person than as an image on your computer screen.
Picture + Sound: If you’ve experience Pixar on Blu-ray, you can imagine how vibrant The Incredibles is in high-definition. It’s not a stretch to say that this is the best viewing experience I’ve had since seeing Brad Bird’s film in theatres. The Incredibles has some of my favorite sound effects too— if you have the right sound system, you’ll appreciate getting your hands on the Blu-ray.
Extras: On disc two, you’ll enjoy thumbing through all of the classic extras as well as five brand new featurettes. Casual observers will get a chuckle or two from a brand new "Studio Stories" bonus and "The New Nominasan" feature, but die-hard fans won’t want to miss the icing on the cake. Brad Bird, John Walker, Mark Andrews, Tony Fucile, Rick Sayre, Teddy Newton and Lou Romano are featured in a brand new roundtable interview. You’ll be surprised at what you didn’t know about the film’s production! A story themed "Paths to Pixar" and a making of the "Incredits" are also new to the set.
Verdict: Totally wicked!
If you haven’t picked up The Incredibles on Blu-ray, do yourself the favor; make sure your Blu-ray is up-to-date though!

The sound is certainly superior to the picture. It has pockets of banding artifacts on the dark scenes, and is inferior visually to the Wall-e and Toy Story 3 blu-rays. And I agree with most of the reviews that aside from Brad Bird, the people on the extras and roundtable are dull. And there is very little relevant new extra info on the discs. Mostly just the same as the DVD.
If anyone saw Rio, what did you think? Could Pixar have done a better job with Newt? Where is it in your scale of rating animated films?
