Well that was quick!
Amazon.com and other online retailers recently listed Cars 2 for pre-order less than one month after its theatrical release. Cover artwork has also hit the web and it appears to be final.
No word on an official release date, but expect to see Cars 2 in stores sometime in November as most Pixar films have their home video premiere around that time. Currently, a 5-disc 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack and a 3-Disc Blu-ray set are listed online. Both packs include DVDs.
Update: A standard DVD package (with Blu-ray discs included) and a "Director’s Edition", featuring a whopping 11-discs, have also been listed on Amazon. It’s worth noting that this will be Pixar’s first 3D home video release.
Could an early listing signal an earlier release?

How long can this 3D craze last?!? Would I be missing anything if I opted for the regular Blu-Ray?
I’m really surprised they still haven’t made the Toy Story short available for purchase on iTunes. All the other shorts of recent vintage have been made available within a couple of days of the film’s release they were attached to.
@Anonymous #1, the 3D was well done and superior to what you would find in a lot of live action 3D releases, but I didn’t feel that it particularly added any extra value to the film as a whole like it did for How to Train Your Dragon or TRON: Legacy.

If Cars 2 gets a 3D Blu-Ray release, then does anyone know why Toy Story 3 didn’t? It seemed people were getting excited for that release. But it turned out that the release in December was for another language. One day, they will release it.

Maybe this is true and this answers my own question.
Disney’s always parsed out the releases of their various films. These films are all about making money…from start to finish.
Anonymous 5; I am another person who loves Cars 2. It seems mostly everyone criticizes it. It’s just their opinion. I saw Cars 2 three times and I’m hoping to see it a few more times because it is my favorite movie!
Wikipedia states that it’s coming to DVD on November 8!
