Route 66 News points out a video by Scott Leitner. It is a slideshow of pictures of Route 66 and is accompanied by Our Town, the song that was sung by James Taylor for the Cars soundtrack. It is quite moving and well worth a look.

This is actually off topic, so I apologize, but I REALLY need to get this off my chest:
Victor Navone said that he was working on the film AFTER Ratatouille, right?
And right now, we know that Toy Story 3 is in Pre-Production at PIXAR . . .
Since PIXAR films tend to get a Four-Year treatment, does anyone think that TS3 (if it comes out) will be released sometime in 2010 as the TENTH PIXAR film and not the ninth (the film after Ratatouille)?
The Ninth of course would refer to the film Navone is currently working on which could be released possibly in 2008/2009 (09’s my bet)
Anyone else agree/disagree?
Yeah, totally off the Cars/Route 66 front, but man this stuff’s driving my curiosity insane! Nothing’s official, I know, but it would seem a whole lot cooler and exciting to know that there may be another original idea before PIXAR’s potential second sequel . . .
Well as far as I am aware, Pixar have been working on this flick for a while, long before they merger and they agreed to do TS3. So I think TS3 will be Pixar’s 11th. Mainly because John is rather busy right now at Disney and Pixar.
Actually.. we know that Pixar products are no longer on the guaranteed 4 year treatments… Cars took 5 years (not including ideas in John Lassetter’s head), and Incredibles I believe (not sure) was 5 as well.
I’d be happy to see some sequels, give some more life to the characters we leave behind – especially if they’re of the same quality as Toy Story 2.
The Pixar sequel that I would like to see made is The Incredibles 2. That has the best possibility to be a good sequel.
IMDB has 2008 for TS3.
Well, don’t trust IMDB . . . but that date used to have some meaning: Back when Disney was doing TS3 solo. The date’s obviously changed for PIXAR.
Appreciate all the comments guys. I had a feeling that PIXAR had something planned for the Ninth release. And Luxo Jr., you think there are TWO movies between Ratatouille and TS3? Very interesting indeed . . .
Ok Well I Think there are 2 between Ratatouille and TS3 because…
Back in 2000, these would have been the films that Pixar had in some form of production and next to them I will put their modern day counterpart….
Just Finishing Monsters Inc. = Cars
Finding Nemo = Ratatouille
The Incredibles = ??
Cars = ??
So I am guessing they may have around 4 films in production at certain times.
That is my thought anyway.
