Although this is Disney and not so much Pixar, the new Disney logo will be in front of Pixar films from now on. So it is Pixary news.
Anyway, back in May when reading this blog post from The Animation Guild Blog, I read this piece of news which had got me excited….
I got a glimpse of the new logo that Mike Gabriel did for Walt Disney Pictures. It’s effing great. I think it will blow people away. I’m told it makes its debut at the front of “Pirates of the Caribbean 2” in early July.
Well, I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean 2 yesterday (BTW it is an excellent film and you should go and see it!), and there was the logo at the start and it was absolutely brilliant. It’s really the cousin of the old Disney logo. I was rather excited to see! Great job Mike Gabriel!
The logo will really complement Disney/Pixar Films. Although I am not sure if Pixar will even use it. Because they have their own 3D version of the Disney logo. But maybe they might use this logo. We will probably have to wait till Ratatouille to find out I guess.

Anyone got a pic?
Yeah, PIXAR will most definitely keep it’s version of Disney’s Logo. They even have their own music for it too(sounds alot like Toy Story), instead of the usual “Wish Upon a Star”-ish music Disney uses with it’s logo.

No Pics but it was a great logo. Maybe PIXAR should crete a new one similar to it like they did with the old one.
