This awards season, like the last, we’ve been bringing you non-stop news on Pixar’s various awards including the Golden Globes, the Grammys, the BAFTAs and so much more.
But of course, we’re not stopping there! The Oscars are in no time (less than a week) and Upcoming Pixar’s got you covered!

Andrew Stanton was asked a few questions for Reelz Channel on his six Oscars nominations. He enlightens us on the different reactions he had during Finding Nemo and WALL•E’s awards seasons.
When asked about Mr. Lasseter he said:
"Well, he was the first person to call me. For him, it’s a sporting event."
Find out what he’s talking about here.
It seems as though he didn’t expect so many nods, especially Best Original Screenplay, which you can read more about at the LA Times "Envelope." Anyways, I think he deserves every one of these nominations.
Update: The LA Time’s The Envelope has a great wrap up of WALL•E’s performance this awards season. If you would like to know how our favorite little robot has been stacking up to the competition, click here.
Note: Tune in to the blog Sunday, February 22nd, 2009 for up to the minute results for any Pixar related awards and red carpet chatter.
Here’s a reminder on the Pixar nominations.
The 81st Annual Academy Awards will play on ABC starting at 8 PM EST/5 PM PST (2/22/09) with red carpet coverage right before the ceremony.
Check your local listings for foreign broadcast information.
Make sure everyone knows that Oscars start at 5PM PST on ABC if you happen to be on the West Coast! The Oscars is one of the few shows that broadcast live to the entire country!
Thanks,
I will make that note.
For Aussie readers: for the first time Foxtel (and Austar, I guess) is going to play the Oscars live on TV. (Usually we have to wait until about 9 hours later.) It doesn’t even matter if you only usually get basic cable, they have already unlocked the channel. But if you don’t have cable, I think some websites may stream it, or you can wait until when it’s played on Channel 9 at 9:30pm on Feb 23.
