I was looking through the files in iTunes 8 today and found all the images for the different Genre’s that appear now if you sort by Genre. I noticed that Apple had labeled Animation as a Genre in the picture (Click for a larger view).
Brad Bird would not be impressed. Let’s hope he doesn’t punch Steve Jobs in the face.
NB: For those of you who are unaware, in the director’s commentary on The Incredibles DVD, Brad Bird made it clear that animation is not a genre and that he would punch the next person that came up to him and asked "What’s it like to work in the animation genre?"

*different Genres
Brad Bird in one corner, Steve Jobs in the other. I’d pay to see them duke it out. Also, one of my favourite UP titles evah.
I hope he DOES punch him in the face! Go Brad Go!

But of all my videos on itunes that I have, none are classified as animation. They’re in their appropriate categories. As for who would win in a fight- Jobs or Bird, I really don’t want to choose.
Yeah, I hope he does also! 😉
When are you guys going to grow up ?
Lol! That ‘animation’ genre logo never appeared on my iTunes 8 because I never labeled any animation on my iTunes with ‘animation’. It simply Comedy, Action, and for Wall-E; Science Fiction.
Oh, and quoting on anynomous : When are you guys going to grow up?
When we are DEAD.
I can understand both sides of the story. Some people prefer animation or non animation (more often the later, unfortunatly) so the genre thing would make sense there. However, saying it’s animation instead of comedy/sci-fi/action/whatever is WRONG.
