Lightning and Mater may be back in the world of Cars but they’re in for a completely different sonic adventure!
Retro surf-rock and an international blend of songs from country to J-pop are found throughout Cars 2: The Original Soundtrack, available now from Walt Disney Records! Composed by Michael Giacchino, this 26-track collection includes 5 songs performed by artists such as Weezer, Brad Paisley, and Robbie Williams, to name a few.
Fans can preview the entire album at Amazon.com or on iTunes where it is available for digital download. Physical copies of the soundtrack are now on store shelves as well.
Note: This is not meant to be a formal review of the soundtrack, it is an observation based on the available snippets.

Opinions on the soundtrack?

The Giacchino stuff is fine, but couldn’t they come up with something less teenybopper than weezer, brad paisly, or robbie williams? Or at LEAST something less than 10 years old.
Interesting point, I bet they were going for sound/aesthetic rather than worrying about artist “category”. We know that with Pixar, story comes first…so I doubt the artist selection is merely a marketing plan to draw interest.
