The Post-Standard, via ComingSoon.net, reports that Ben Burtt, sound designer for all the “Star Wars” and “Indiana Jones” films, has joined Pixar.
Burtt said that he doesn’t have a future at Lucasfilm as George Lucas hasn’t announced officially what his next projects are. The ‘Star Wars’ had guaranteed him three years employment, but nothing past that.
He said that Pixar had “the most attractive” of all the offers he recieved. Another reason he chose Pixar is because of its Bay Area location. The filmmaker has long been a resident of Northern California not far from Lucas’ headquarters at Skywalker Ranch in Marin County and its allied operations.
