With Cars 2 barely out the door, all this Brave content has come as a pleasant surprise!
But first, let’s take a look at a brand new still from Hawaiian Vacation! The stunning image has been included in a brand new interview with director Gary Rydstrom over at Animation World Network.
Onto the Brave news; Entertainment Weely brings us our first official look at Princess Merida, the film’s protagonist. Disney has also launched a brand new website for Brave. It’s not much yet, but stay tuned.
Also: TIME Magazine revealed their list of the 25 best animated films of all time with five Pixar films taking top spots. WALL•E was the Lamp’s highest ranking, reaching #2 with Pinnochio at #1.
Remember, the Brave trailer will only play in front of Digital 3D and IMAX screenings of Cars 2— opening today!
Thoughts on the short and trailer?

We can only see the Brave teaser if we go to 3D showings? What a rip-off.
THAT IS HORRIBLE! I’m SEEING A 2-D TIME! WELL I’LL SEE IT SOME OTHER TIME
I saw went to a midnight showing of Cars 2 in 3D but I didn’t see the Brave trailer. They didn’t show any trailers. I was completely disappointed.
Last anon- I’m terribly sorry to hear that. You should definitely report this to @PixarPatrol on Twitter. By any chance, are you in the US? I hear that the trailer is only playing stateside.
Are you serious??? Only in 3D and IMAX? That is the most misguided, disappointing thing I’ve heard in a while. Where did you get your info that the ‘Brave’ trailer isn’t playing in 2D showings? I’m going to a 2D showing, and was really, really, really looking forward to the ‘Brave’ trailer… Now I’m super disappointed.
Good grief Pixar, do you want to start burning bridges here? A sequel to a movie that is considered your worst movie, which not many die hard Pixar fans are happy about. Now this too? I’m really looking forward to Brave but am not going to shell out a few more bucks to see this in 3D, when I’m not even sure if I’ll see it in 2D. It’ll pop up on YouTube though, so I’m not TOO upset about it.
I’m pretty sure they’ll release it online come Monday.
I got this information from the PixarPatrol Twitter. That would be the Pixar projectionists. As far as I can tell, non-US theaters are not playing the trailer and some 2D digital screenings are opting out of playing it. So the safest bet would be 3D or IMAX. Don’t shoot the messenger.
no brave, just winnie the pooh 🙁
