Free Comic Book Day is back and BOOM! Studios is giving away free copies of Cars #1: The Rookie!
"The Rookie" follows Lightning McQueen’s origin story, told as a flashback in a talk show with RSN. Set before the events of Cars, this comic recounts Lightning’s days as ‘Bulldozer’ McQueen and other moments that changed the hot-shot rookie racecars’ life. The issue, which you can get on May 2nd, 2009 only (while supplies last), is excerpted but includes never-before-seen sketches, character designs and script pages! I’m a little angry, since I spent $3.50 on this and now I can get it for free! 🙁
I’ll be going to the Golden Apple Comics store in Hollywood/L.A. today with my dad and sister, so I’ll pick up a few copies for you guys if I can.
