It’s been a big week for Cars 2, culminating in the release of the film’s first full length trailer!
If you were skeptical about the direction of the sequel, this promo should give you a fine idea of where Pixar intends to take it. Between espionage and international flair — I think Lightning and Mater will prove to be hilarious protagonists once again, especially among their new car companions:
Don’t forget to check out yesterday’s image premiere, featuring Finn McMissile (Michael Caine), some baddies and a jet, as well as the all-new teaser poster. In addition, an international version of the trailer can be found here.
Cars 2 is revving up for a June 24th, 2011 release.
It’s got that new car smell, wouldn’t you agree?

Michael Caine is the voice of Finn McMissile and Emily Mortimer is the voice of the purple car.
Hurm… I don’t know… I was reserving judgement until we got a real trailer, but this still isn’t doing much to see the movie to me. I have faith in Pixar, but Cars 2 is definitely testing that faith.
Please don’t let us down, Pixar.
I meant “sell” not “see”
This looks FUN.
And yes, contrary to popular belief, Pixar is allowed to just have fun every once in a while.
i think it looks hilarious!!! haha
i don’t think that was a full-lenght trailer. It focuses on just Tokyo racing and spy-work that happens there.
The worst Pixar trailer. Every pixar trailer has people wondering about how the film will go, how the character will relate with the surrounding. But, i say trailer, not the movie.
Last Anon— It was a full-length trailer. I’ll let everyone else address the rest of your comments as they see fit as I respect your opinion but personally disagree.
I wasn’t looking forward to this until I saw Toy Story 3. And that’s because Pixar’s storytelling has gotten more mature starting with Ratatouille IMO. And I wasn’t looking forward to Toy Story 3 that much before it was released, after three awesome and risky films. But after loving Toy Story 3 and seeing how it continued Pixars streal of more mature storytelling, I’m totally looking forward to Cars 2. Even if part 1 is the only Pixar film I’m seen just once and that’s it.
It was quite a good trailer! I look forward to this movie, it looks like it’ll be a lot of fun. Guys, it’s just a trailer. It doesn’t tell us everything. Let’s wait till it’s actually out before we judge the movie itself.
Hmm…I am a huge fan of Pixar..but this trailer is not giving me a good impression…I can’t judge the movie till I’ve seen it, but so far, this sort of looks terrible..so “Disney” from what we’ve seen..
Anyone have any idea what the background song is?
According to Shazam (http://www.shazam.com/), it’s Bitter:Sweet – Trouble (http://vimeo.com/4874907)
Nope. Still not interested.
When I first saw the Cars trailer back in 2006, I thought that was going to be Pixars first flop. Well Cars turned out to be a fun film for me and my 3 year son so I am expecting Cars 2 to be much the same. We enjoy Maters Tall Tales shorts so I think we will enjoy Cars 2. As for the negative comments to the trailer, I believe its from people who were not really fans of the first Cars. Can`t please everyone.
