Previously, Bangkok Times presented the first three of seven creative principles used by John Lasseter that make the company what it is today. Here are the last 4:
4. It’s the team, stupid. Lasseter says that a common question he gets is whether groups are more creative than individuals, his answer, "In most cases, it’s the team…"
5. Fun invokes creativity, not competition. Many people believe putting two people who dislike each other into a room will create ideas", Lasseter refutes that notion, "I disagree. Co-operation, confidence and fun – that is the way"
6. "Poor managers harm the creative process." Lasseter adds, "A manager who spreads his bad mood and who forbids his employees to have fun impairs their creativity, and thus harms the enterprise."
7. "Bring only those new members into your creative team, whom you consider to be at least as talented as you. If they also have a pleasant and nice character – even better."

This advice is priceless and can be translated into any position. It’s no surprise that Pixar makes such great films with a leader like John Lasseter.
