The most wanted toy in the mid-90’s was arguably a brand new, state-of-the-art Buzz Lightyear.
I remember when I was younger one of my favorite toys was Buzz, no surprise, he’s extremely cool as a character and a "plaything." Now I can’t wait to see how the kids of this generation welcome the characters from Andy’s room (that premiered almost 15 years ago) into their homes with this new incarnation.
That day will finally come this August with the release of a brand new set of electronics and figures dubbed the Toy Story Collection. The Disney Store has them for pre-order including the brand new Buzz Lightyear 12’‘ Action Figure, Sheriff Woody 15’‘ Action Figure, a Rex 13’‘ Action Figure and the RC Car, (you may remember some of these previewed in an earlier post) both with realistic and movie accurate remote controlled movements. The most special part of these toys is that, not only are they high tech with voice commands and such, but they are made from the original film data to be as true to the source as possible and come with a certificate of authenticity "signed" by John Lasseter. Click on the links to see a full price and feature list.
On the lower tech side are the Bucket O Soldiers featuring Sarge & crew and the Little Green Men 3-Pack. Not part of the Toy Story Collection but still new to the marketplace is iDance Buzz Lightyear. You guessed it, he dances to your MP3 player’s tunes. For those of you wondering where Thinkway Toy‘s Toy Story line has gone, this is it. Each one was made by the company that believed in Pixar’s first movie which apparently wasn’t going to sell any toys even though it was about toys. They’re all on the expensive side, but they sure look fun for all ages come late August.
You can pre-order these toys now at Disney Store’s website.
(Thanks, Tyler)

Wow Anonymous!
Tell us how you liked each figure once you got them!
I MUST HAVE IT! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
…So much cool stuff! I want it so much! I was looking through the stuff and grinning like an idiot, that is until I saw the price, of course, Toy Story 3 has to come out while I’m in college (bored, starving, flat broke, etc.)
Holy crap, that RC is the most accurate Toy Story toy I think Ive seen to date. with Rex close second. Woody, I think could use some work, but its different better than the original fat woody.
I still hate that they don’t use the default expression from the movie, ie, a smile where she shows no teeth. Its definetly better sculpted though. I cant wait to get all of these.
Love the fact that their scaled properly.
just wish they weren’t so expensive. cutting down on all the unnecessary features would have gone a long way.
and OMG just saw Buzz. the longer wing span is fantastic. still not quite a long as it should be, but Im guessing that’s as long as they could make it without being detachable. and the fact that it folds downards, wow.
And the lights on the ends!
I could go on but these are all must haves come August.

Ugh, I meant to say have you guys seen the mr potato head? You can’t preorder yet, but it can be seen here (see link ^)
anyway, I’m now wondering what’s missing from the smaller buzz. They don’t make it very clear. It seems the smaller cheaper one is in scale to the movie(and RC), but is it missing the wrist communicator, and only the larger one has it?
my favorite Buzz toy:

i noticed that on all toy story collection it had “pre order” in the name and it said it will release in late august and will ship in three weeks. the buzz lightyear looks cool, but currently it says nothing about when it is coming out and it won’t let me pre order it. Is it out now? or is it gonna be delayed?
