It was announced today that Pixar co-founder and president, Ed Catmull will recieve the Gordon E. Sawyer Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Oscar honors key individuals who have had a lifetime of achievements in computer graphics used in film.
Ed Catmull will accept the prize on February 7th at the Scientific and Technical Awards ceremony preceding the Oscars. This will be his second honorary Oscar and is among his 3 other scientific and technical awards he’s won from the Academy.
