It has come to our attention through a very reliable source that Pixar is re-vamping their mascot for the studio’s upcoming opening titles.
The new lamp is set to premiere in theatres this June with Toy Story 3. We’re hearing that the design is more "edgy" and will appeal to Pixar’s ever growing teen and young adult audience, possibly mirroring the "Black Friday" cut of Toy Story as pushed by Jeffrey Katzenberg back in the film’s early development.

A new lamp, a new promotional short, a new name!? What’s going on? Your thoughts?

Oooh, I loved the 3D version of the Pixar logo, so I can’t wait to see this edgy version. I’m wondering exactly what that means, though…
Wow, this is going to be great!
I also heard that Pixar is now working on its first R-rated movie! Can’t wait!!!!!
are these people up here serious?
I’m lost
April fools!
My best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this Pixar animator that instead of jumping on the ball and flattening it, Luxo Jr. now shoots a laser beam and incincerates it.
Haha, you guys are great!
Thanks for taking the joke so well.
I love seeing friendly April Fool’s Day comments. 🙂
Pixar going…edgy?
That’s a word you just don’t use.

Edgy Pixar…?
Suicide pact.
No, really, this was a pretty clever (and startling) April Fool’s prank, almost as great as the A Bug’s Life 2 one!
