AWESOME. He played Harry, a friend of Tim’s and owner of the hardware store in Home Improvement. His voice is perfect and so is the chemistry!
^^^ Forgot to mention I was referring to Blake Clarke as Slinky 😀
I wonder what PR person is writing Unkrich’s “twitters.”
It’s Lee Unkrich himself, guarantee you. It was his personal Twitter from a while back, then he started tweeting again this year.
OT: the PP forums seems to be down: “403 Forbidden”
Blake as slink is perfect casting. Loved him on boy meets world, and the connection he has with Tim is nifty too. I think they should have Buzz do his trademark grunt. would be a fun reference. though they already did a subtle Home Improvement reference in Toy Story with the Binford tool box, but I want another more obvious one. heh
When did Slinky’s voice actor die? D: Seriously, that’s the 4th Pixarian VA I’ve heard passed away.
OT: Hey guys? What happened to the forum? D:
“that’s the 4th Pixarian VA I’ve heard passed away.”
He was the very first, he died shortly after Toy Story 2 was finished. and who are the other 2? I know theres Joe Ranft, Paul Newman, and Jonathan Harris, but who else is left?
OT: Yeah, I thought it just got blocked at school, but the forums aren’t showing up here at home either!!! 🙁 Could someone please see what’s wrong with them?
Yeah, I got the same problem. It seems like the only part of pixarplanet that I am able to access is anything, but profiles and the forum. What’s going on? Does anyone know when they’ll be fixed?
Anyway, that is awesome! I was hoping for a scene from the movie, but they probably won’t give that to us for another few weeks or so. Still just as awesome though. I wonder who she’ll be playing. Still no sign of characters like Bo Peep or RC though. 🙁
This is what I’ve been hearing. Apparently the forum exceeded bandwidth, probably because of the popularity of the Toy Story 3 trailer, so Pixar Planet’s host terminated service. The problem is being fixed as we speak. Pixar Planet Forums should be back up very soon, in the next few days at the longest. Sorry, guys. 🙁
Lee Unkrisch may write a twitter or two but I guarentee most of them are pure pr dept. It’s what all studios do.
“He was the very first, he died shortly after Toy Story 2 was finished. and who are the other 2? I know theres Joe Ranft, Paul Newman, and Jonathan Harris, but who else is left?”
Glenn McQueen and Dan Lee
Correct me if Im wrong, but those were animators, not a voice actors.
Martini, why would Lee need PR people? They have an official Pixar twitter account for that sort of thing. In fact they even retweet Lee’s stuff on occasion. Lee’s tweets are often too personal to to be written by PR people.
I never implied his Tweets were fake or by PR people, that was the person below me. I personally know for sure that they’re real. Long story…
Note I defended his tweets earlier in the comments section.
You guys don’t have to believe me but I guarantee you Lee’s tweets are the real deal.
When I tried to go on the forums,it said forbidden!
annarborjack – I think there are bandwidth problems – at least that’s what I’ve gathered from here. Check martini833’s comment before the one right before yours…
i have the same problem when I tried to get into the forums
Martini, yeah sorry. the design of this blog’s comment section has always been poorly designed in my opinion, my instinct is to look at the name above a comment, not below.
theres also the log in issue, I dont know about the rest of you but I always show up as anonymous, despite logging in. I’d be willing to bet the same happens for a lot of us, making responding to others even more confusing.
I’m really sorry about all the issues you guys are having. Know this, we ARE working on it and it is not going to be easy because many of the people haven’t “inhereted” site rights and priviliges. Simple as that. We have lots of plans, but it WILL take a while. Sorry.
It’s ok. I can be patient. Besides, it’s not your fault that the site is down.
The forums are back online! 🙂
