Cartoon Brew points out one of the coolest things I have seen. Cesar Turin, Dalila Martins, Dani Libardi and Dhyana Mai, film students from Brazil, have turned Geri’s Game into a live-action short. The live-action versions mimics the Oscar-Winning animated short by Jan Pinkava, shot for shot.
It’s very, clever and I enjoyed it immensly. You can watch the original here.
P.S. – In case many of you are wondering why I haven’t posted about the Emile Magic Trick that has been floating around, it’s because I have in fact posted about it. Right here, 2 weeks ago.

Wow!!! Thanks for posting!
Geri’s Game is my favorite Pixar short film and I was delighted to see this “new version” with humans (I mean one person 🙂

this is fantastic, *adds blog link*
How is copying someone elses film shot for shot ‘creative’? I don’t mean to be a hater, the live action version is not nearly as effective as the original. I just think their time wouuld have been better spent creating something new and original.
While it doesn’t show their creativity in originality, I do think their ability to make a non-animated version proves the story is just as amazing.
Must have taken a lot of work (and viewing G’s G) to come up with this.
Uau! Que legal ver nosso trabalho aqui!!!
Mas “O Jogo de Geri (no Mundo Real)” não está mais no youtube (a Disney parece não ter entendido ou não gostado da homenagem), mas a refilmagem pode ser vista no site brasileiro:
