More Pixar at the Oscars [UPDATE]

Academy Awards Andrew Stanton Awards News WALL-E

To wrap up this year’s Oscars coverage, I thought I’d collect some interesting media concerning Pixar at the 81st Annual Academy Awards red carpet and ceremony.

First off, here’s the abridged form of the official transcript from two time Academy Award winning animation director, Andrew Stanton’s acceptance speech:
"My producers Jim Morris and Lindsey Collins should really be up here to accept this with me… I guess I’d be remiss if I did not thank my high school drama teacher Phil Perry for 28 years ago casting me as Barnaby in Hello, Dolly!. Creative seeds are sown in the oddest of places so, uh, thank you so much to the Academy for this."
Click here for the full text and browse Oscar.com for more.

Since the show limits your time on an acceptance speech, the official Oscars website brings us the Thank You Cam in which winners can extend their gratitude. Watch the video to find out who else WALL•E’s director thanked.

The Backstage Cam offers us a sneak peek of the goings on after someone wins an award. In this video, we have Andrew Stanton with Jennifer Aniston and Jack Black (remember what he said?) posing backstage after the Best Animated Feature win. Also in the video is Best Animated Short winner Kunio Kato.

Then there’s the Oscar.com Hi Cam, where Andrew Stanton is featured first. Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney, is also in the video.

Finally, here is TV Guide’s brief interview with Andrew Stanton and Fred Willard (Shelby Forthright) from WALL•E.

Update: The Oscars site also has a video of the Academy Awards press room where Andrew Stanton answered questions from journalists. It’s quite interesting and almost 4 minutes long, watch it here!

Enjoy!

Congratulations to everyone at Pixar on the monumentally succesful awards season! You deserved it. Next up… UP!
